ecolibrium is delighted to be a trusted carbon-balancing partner for Vision: 2025 and their network of over 500 outdoor events and businesses taking positive climate action, including the 100+ festivals and events who have taken the Vision: 2025 pledge to reduce environmental impacts and carbon emissions on the journey to Net Zero.
Vision: 2025 is a steering group of industry associations and leaders in the field of sustainability; in 2015 they published The Show Must Go On – a seminal report on the environmental impacts of the events industry. The report was presented at the COP21 talks and rallied events in the UK to pledge to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2025 in line with government targets at the time.
With over 100 events having taken the pledge The Show Must Go On was republished in 2021 with an updated roadmap for reductions in light of changing roadmap for reductions towards embarking on a Net Zero journey.
Vision: 2025’s latest advice to members is to measure, avoid, reduce and then consider balancing unavoidable emissions as an essential step in their path towards Net Zero. Carbon balancing, climate solutions programmes supported by ecolibrium include ecosystem protection, regeneration and clean energy generation.
ecolibrium has already worked with over 55 events and 40 suppliers to reduce environmental impacts and invest in climate solutions, helping our members, including events such as such as Boomtown, Reading, Bluedot, Shambala, Timber and All Points East, to balance the carbon emissions from the equivalent of over 13 million travel miles.
