From the Fields offer travel carbon balancing at Bluedot and Kendal Calling

From The Fields are an award-winning event curators who helped to found ecolibrium in 2015. From the Fields Director Ben Robinson sits on our board of trustees and since 2016 they have offered carbon balancing to audiences travelling to two of their events, Bluedot and Kendal Calling. Offering festival goers the choice to make a ‘Carbon Balancing’ donation when they buy their tickets. We give our staff, contractors and artists the opportunity to do the same with Energy Revolution. We invest 100% of this in renewable energy with Energy Revolution, a festival industry collaborative charity.

From the Fields work with their ticket agent Ticketline to add an optional donation of £2 to ticket buyers to help balance the carbon emissions from travel. They also give their staff, contractors and artists the opportunity to do the same – ecolibrium then invests 100% of this donation into renewable energy through our Energy Revolution programme.  In 2019 Bluedot also ran a hugely successful Christmas campaign through which everyone who bought a weekend tickets in the month of December also contributed £10 to investment in renewable energy – this donation replaced a physical which would have been issued in previous years – the aim being to cut the amount of unnecessary ‘stuff’ given during the festive period and to underline Bluedot’s strong commitment to protecting ‘spaceship earth’.

Both Kendal Calling and Bluedot work to cut emissions from travel by initiating car sharing schemes and providing coaches for festival-goers to arrive together.  Check out their environmental policy here:
