In 2022, Shambala, UK (capacity 25,000) took several steps to further its long-term sustainable travel strategy. Measures included:

  • All sustainable travel tickets were subsidised by £20 to encourage sales.
  • All vehicle passes have a compulsory carbon balancing levy and all other ticket buyers, crew and artists are encouraged to balance their travel emissions with ecolibrium.
  • 95% of buggies, tele-handlers and other plant were run on sustainable HVO fuel.
  • Introducing a new rail traveller package for 2023, with a subsidised ticket price to encourage attendees to travel by public transport.

All these measures significantly reduced Shambala’s year-on-year footprint, and helped the event reduce their total carbon footprint by over 80%.

Hi! I'm Alfie Cooper, an online casino reviewer and iGaming expert. During my time working at NetBet and Unibet, I gained a thorough understanding of the principles and mechanisms of online casinos from the inside. At some point, I became dissatisfied with simply watching newcomers fall into the traps of unscrupulous operators. That's why I launched my own casino review website in the UK: to test, analyze in detail, and explain in simple terms to novice players where the truth lies and where it's just marketing hype.
